Ciarán Hodgers

The Novella Awards is a biennial literary prize awarding £1,000 and publication with Sandstone Press, delivered by Manchester Metropolitan University and Liverpool John Moore's University.

I lead the coordination of the 2016 edition, which was judged by Lucy English and awarded to Joma West's 'Wild'.

We saw huge increases in our submission haul and marketing statistics and were successful in securing funding for outreach activity that employed current MMU students to deliver creative writing workshops in community groups and local schools. They were awarded debut short story prizes for the work they submitted, and the schools prizes can be read on the website.
